Obtainable Rye You Gotta Trye

Last July, I posted a top ten list of good, "obtainable" bourbons. I've spent a lot of time exploring rye whiskeys too, so I figured it's time to post a similar list of my favorite, obtainable ryes. I've included honorable mentions, but I considered cost and availability as much as quality/taste in making my choices.

I attempted to group my selections and the honorable mentions- Canadians, mash bill, cask strength, etc.

Without further ado...here's a list of my favorite, obtainable rye whiskeys, ranked in order of the percentage of rye in the mash bill. Let me know what you think!

100% rye. 100 proof. 10 years old. $70.
"The Foreigner."

The best rye I've ever tasted is the Whistlepig Boss Hog, but it's hard to find and it's $300+.

95% rye. 90 proof. Between 4 and 7 years. $30.
"Most obtainable" rye in the group.
