Michter's Bourbon

Earlier this week, I posted my take on the tragic history of the original Michter's, an historic Pennsylvania distillery that was abandoned on Valentine's Day night in 1990. Below is a review of one of the "new" Michter's products, a sourced bourbon, reportedly from a large Kentucky distillery.

Michter's Bourbon

Chatham Imports
91.4 proof
$45 at Liquor Barn in Lexington, KY

Color: Rich, medium amber.

Nose: Very pleasant, classic bourbon nose- caramel, vanilla, toasted oak, cinnamon, Werther's candies.

Tasting Notes: The sip eases into spice. Up front, I get caramel and sweet honey. Cinnamon and rye spice pop and tingle the tongue through a long finish.

Overall: B+. An easy drinker. Flavorful enough to impress any serious bourbon drinker, but smooth enough to share with my wife, who is sipping on a chocolate milkshake right now.
