Bourbon Scout Ancient Ancient Bacon Cookies

The lovely Mrs. Bourbon Scout is no whiskey enthusiast.  That's OK, more for me. Right up until she drained a bottle of Ancient Ancient Age 10 Star into a bowl of cookie dough. I can't be mad though. AAA10 Star costs $15 and the cookies are great.

If you're looking to bond over bourbon, bacon, and butter, try our family cookie recipe with a healthy splash of Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey.

Bourbon Scout Ancient Ancient Bacon Cookies

1 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
5 tbsp bourbon (or more?)
2 eggs

Cream first 6 ingredients together.

Then, in a separate bowl, mix:

2 cups flour
2 1/2 cups oats
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda

...and add to the first bowl. Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet at 375 degrees F for 8-10 minutes.

We added cooked, crumbled bacon and a small amount of bacon grease.  I loved it; the wife recommends against it...
